Many of us feel our sewing machines are family members. I am fortunate - and grateful - to have a "machine family" ranging from early 1900s to the present. This includes my mom's 1940 New Home (a beautiful "work horse" and my all-time favorite), my 1969 Kenmore (my High School Christmas gift) and a sweet 1952 Singer Featherweight made in the year I was born, that I purchased in 2010. I
am immeasurably grateful for my early 1900s Premium Treadle, my Babylock
Imagine serger and "If I
have to spend time indoors ... I can only hope there is a sewing machine in the
room."
